One of the requirements of a connection over the horse’s back is a supple seat of the rider, which doesn’t hinder the movement of the back muscles and can influence the waves of the back.
No-one can learn to use their seat on a horse with a tense back so it is necessary for inexperienced riders to have lessons on a well schooled horse that uses its back correctly. Unfortunately these are not always readily available.
The equisimulator is a great way to learn the correct use of the seat that is necessary for engaging the horse’s hindquarters and creating a connection to the bit.
Until the 10th March I am offering very affordable lessons on the equisimulator and a chance to chat to me about equine biomechanics. Please contact me if you are interested.
